[SOLD] Mason & Hamlin A X2 #19205 made in 1910
This Bay Area piano has a soundboard and bridges that look like a new piano.
It had a major restoration about 15 years ago with new hammers, shanks and flanges and wippens. The plate was removed and refinished, the soundboard was refinished and new strings and dampers were installed. Today this work would cost close to $25,000.
It was sold to a family where the kids hardly played and the restoration is still in like new condition. This year they returned to England and I bought the piano back from them.
The flame mahogany case is in beautiful condition and will be a show piece in any living room.
It has been tuned, voiced and re- regulated in preparation for sale.

The Tension Resonator System sits below the soundboard and expands out to the rim of the piano. This technology allows the pianos to maintain their crown better because the metal device supports the rim of the piano and keeps it from expanding and contracting in different weather conditions, creating much more stability for the piano. Furthermore, Mason & Hamlin pianos have massively built inner and outer rims that further enhance the longevity of soundboard crown. This is why many older Mason & Hamlin pianos still produce vibrant sound when other pianos lose their energy of tone.
